Year Advisers Report - Year 12
Year Advisers Report - Year 12
As I start to write my final newsletter report for Year 12 I can’t help but think about all the fun and amazing times we have had over the last 6 years. Looking back at the Year 7 photos and seeing how the students have grown and matured, I’m so proud of the fine young people they have developed into. This year has seen the accumulation of lots of hard work and the realisation of some amazing talent in the year group.
This group has proven themselves to be strong and resilient, and having them back at school the last two weeks was such a pleasure. Although their end of school was not exactly as they have seen for past year 12’s, as a school we worked within the guidelines to provide the best finish we could. The Year 12’s responded with enthusiasm and we saw some fantastic costumes and creativity. It made for a funny last couple of days with class parties, dodgeball and a final BBQ to wave them on their way. I would like to commend them for their respectful attitude and behaviour on these days.
As the HSC commences students need to remember that it is just one step in their path to adulthood. Regardless of results they are all champions and will have lots of opportunities in the future. I would encourage students to continue their exam preparations so that at the end of it all they are satisfied that they have done their best.
A reminder to Year 12 students to pay for their Formal either online or by phone to the front office. Once they have done this they can give me a list of who they would like at their table. This will be emailed to Year 12 students.
The Formal is at The Entertainment Grounds Thursday 9 December from 6.00 pm–10.30 pm.
Graduation will be at school on Monday December 6 and will be available to watch online for parents and carers. More information will be emailed to you closer to the time.
The Year 12 Yearbook will be distributed to students at the Graduation, and I am pleased to confirm that the school is going to cover the cost for this. Additional copies will need to be paid for however. Please let the front office know if you wish to pay and order an additional copy.
I would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Mrs Keft for putting the yearbook together – spending many hours of her own time and doing an amazing job. I would also like to thank Ms Fitzgerald for her support in all things technical. It is very much appreciated. I also need to thank Mrs James who has been such a rock in supporting me and you and for her mammoth barbecuing skills. Lastly, I would like to thank all of the parents and caregivers for your support of the school and giving us the care of these very special young people for the last six years.
I look forward to hearing about what the students are up to in the coming year.
