Deputy Principal's Report

   Years 7, 9 & 11

What a time it has been!

As we return to the classrooms for Term 4 I would like to take the time to thank Mr Wright who stepped into the role of Deputy Principal for the majority of Term 3 for me. He was a wonderful support for Years 7, 9 & 11 and the staff as a whole. It has been lovely to return to such a settled school with everyone so happy to be back with their friends and teachers.

Year 7 worked steadily throughout the online period and when it came time to send home positive acknowledgements, the recipients were vastly spread across all classes and many students received accolades for working solidly in all classes.

Year 9 have also worked incredibly hard during lockdown and have produced some wonderful pieces of work. Year 9 will start to work on their leadership skills with Peer Support selection and training to begin shortly. We look forward to a productive Term 4.

Year 11 have moved into the HSC pattern and have already begun their assessment journey. They are working hard to conceptualise all their different subjects’ content, tasks and skills. Year 11 should also be congratulated for all their hard work, resilience, and friendship during the lockdown period. They are all a credit to their school and families.

I would like to congratulate our new School Leadership Team;

  • Jade Sweeney - School Captain
  • Harrison Day - School Captain
  • Arabella Kimber - Vice Captain
  • Joshua Emms - Vice Captain
  • Mackenzie Goodhew - Prefect
  • Annabel Worrad - Prefect
  • Emma Stone - Prefect
  • Charley Newton-Kasteel - Prefect
  • Tamika Williams - Prefect

 School Uniform for 2022

As always, we pride ourselves on our wonderful reputation in the community, which is fundamentally built on our collective identity. This identity comes from the recognisable uniform and behaviours of our students. Upon returning to school after lockdown we have seen issues with some uniforms, we understand that this period has been difficult for some families and purchasing new uniforms is not possible. However, exercise tights are not acceptable for school shorts or pants and must not be worn. There have also been problems with the length of some of the girls’ skirts and their shorts which are completely unacceptable. The school community spent a lot of time designing, refining, and organising shorts for the girls to wear, so all girls need to be wearing the school short that can be purchased from Lowes.

We are aware that a lot of students are wearing canvas shoes at the moment and there are budgetary constraints around purchasing new shoes at this point in time. However, we encourage all students to follow the school rules, white sock and black leather school shoes are essential items, also important regarding safety.

From the beginning of 2022 all students will be expected to be wearing the appropriate uniform in all manner. We will be issuing students with uniform detentions for not complying with the school uniform code.

A huge thanks to the majority of our students who wear their uniform with pride everyday!

Mrs Natalie Wearne
