English

The English faculty would like to offer a warm ‘welcome back’ to the students and school community as we transition to on-site learning. We were impressed by the level of engagement displayed by our students while working from home and are now excited to be able to discuss and analyse literature again in person.

At the time of writing, our Year 12 students have (finally) commenced their HSC Exams. We are so proud of their perseverance during what has been a highly unusual and at times, frustrating experience for them.

Our new Year 12 classes have started their HSC courses with vigour. Standard students are enjoying their investigation of the novel Past the Shallows, while our Advanced classes are in disbelief in their study of Miller’s harrowing drama The Crucible. The English Studies class is learning about different perspectives in their analysis of the television series Go Back to Where You Came From.

The junior year groups are studying a variety of texts from tales of dystopias in Year 10, to the Australian drama The Honey Spot in Year 7.
