We have celebrated some wonderful achievements in the pool this week with lots of children participating in the Annual Swimming Carnival. Congratulations to all children on their involvement. We had good weather and lots of parental support for our swimmers. Outstanding sportsmanship was also evident in and out of the pool by all of our children. Congratulations everyone for your efforts and ‘having a go’. Thank you to Miss Miller and Mrs Guihot for their outstanding organisation of the day.

Congratulations to Mia McClements, Oliver Hamer and Tom Hamer on the records they broke at the carnival – an outstanding effort!

Well done to Hargraves House who were the overall Champion House on Friday. They cheered and swam all day. Good work.

Junior Boys – Lachlan Simeonidis

Junior Girls – Milly Griffiths

Infants (Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2) and Primary (3, 4, 5 and 6) Assemblies will be held in weeks 4 and 9 this term. The first Infants Assembly will be held on Wednesday 20th February at 12.20pm and the first Primary Assembly will be held on Wednesday 20th February at 2.10pm in the McMullen Hall. All parents and friends are very welcome to join us to celebrate our accomplishments.

As a staff we continue to modify our Assessment and Reporting practices so we can ensure parents obtain feedback each term on their child’s progress from their child’s classroom teacher. At anytime, if parents have any concerns or issues about your child’s learning, you are encouraged to contact the school to make an appointment to speak with your child’s classroom teacher. The Assessment and Reporting schedule for 2019 is:

  • Term 1 Week 4 – Thursday 21st February-Friday 22nd February – Support Unit Parent/Teacher Interviews
  • Term 1 Week 6 - Monday 4th March -Friday 8th March – Parent/Teacher Interviews
  • Term 2 Week 9 – Semester 1 Reports home
  • Term 3 – Parent/Teacher Interviews
  • Term 4 - Semester 2 Reports home

Parent/Teacher Interviews have been organised for Thursday 21st February - Friday 22nd February for the Support Unit and Monday 4th March - Friday 8th March for all other classes. These meetings will allow parents to meet teachers, talk about what is to be taught this year and how your child has settled into the 2019 school year, plans for the school year, class expectations and parent expectations. Parents can book Interview times via the Parent portal or notes for these meetings have been sent home this week. Parents are encouraged to return these notes indicating a time preference to the front office as soon as possible or going on to the Parent Portal and requesting your interview time.

If any parent has any concerns regarding any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate to contact me.
