Socks in the City appeal, August 2018

Year 7 Winter Appeal

A recent excursion to the Salvation Army Perth Fortress has inspired Year 7 students Jay Lander and Ashton Natta to organise a Winter Appeal in aid of the Salvation Army. They are requesting donations of the following:

  • Clothes
  • Bags including handbags, backpacks and suitcases
  • Sleeping Bags
  • Socks
  • Scarves
  • Gloves

This is the perfect opportunity to help the Salvation Army while spring cleaning. Items can be delivered to ELC Reception, Primary Reception and Student Services Reception. Jay and Ashton will be collecting donations from Monday 3 September until Friday 21 September.

2019 School Council Bursaries

The purpose of a School Council Bursary is twofold. Firstly, to offer financial assistance to an existing school family who supports the values of John Wollaston Anglican Community School and secondly, to provide educational opportunities for an appropriately qualified student who would not otherwise be able to remain at the School for financial or family reasons.

School Council will offer up to five bursaries for 2019. Bursaries are available to current students entering Year 7 to Year 12 in 2019.

Please click on the document attached below for more information about School Council Bursaries being offered in 2019.

Join us for an evening with Maggie Dent

The SEEDS Project invites you to a fantastic evening with Maggie Dent as she presents Real Kids in an Unreal World: Building Resilience and Self-esteem in Today's Children (10 Resilience Building Blocks). Children need to have certain basic experiences to build the competencies that will help them manage life - the good, the bad and the ugly.

Maggie has developed a common-sense, practical model of 10 building blocks that will reassure parents that what we have always known to be important in the early years of a child's life is still important. This seminar will offer you practical, common-sense ideas and strategies to make small changes in your home, which will make a big difference to your child's cognitive, physical, psychological, emotional and social health later in life.
