Prep Incursion

On Friday 20th August, the Prep students participated in an online zoo excursion! It was a day filled with fun, excitement, and awe as we toured Werribee Zoo and watched the bird and seal shows thanks to Taronga Zoo. 

Students took part in special activities including designing and building their own zoo and asking questions to an animal of their choice. Another activity included using different animals to inspire their writing, whilst thinking about the purpose of their writing. There was a focus on the author's purpose and whether students wanted to persuade, inform or entertain their reader.

 Students also wrote about zoo animals, asked questions about animals in reading time, did maps of 'My Zoo' in maths and in Other Learning Areas (OLA) the Prep used their maps and play dough to make 3D models of their zoo.
