Jane Moloney Reading Award winners

Each semester we like to acknowledge a student in Year 7 and Year 8 who has borrowed the most books from the school library, and shown themselves to be keen readers, who contribute positively to the reading culture in the school.

The reading award is named after our wonderful Library Technician, Jane Moloney, who very sadly passed away from a brain tumour last year. Ms. Moloney was an avid reader, who loved to promote reading with the students at our school and we hope to keep her memory alive through this award.

In Semester 1, our award winners were India Gentile of 7B and Justin Le of 8L. Both are voracious readers and we love talking to them about what they’ve read. As well as a certificate, they have been given book vouchers for Benn’s Books in Bentleigh.

Congratulations India and Justin.

Term 2 Puzzle

After many weeks and a few lockdown interruptions our puzzle-assemblers have completed the 1000-piece Magical Deer. A very impressive effort with this challenging puzzle!

Reader’s Cup

This term we will be running our annual Reader’s Cup event. We have 9 teams signed up for the most enjoyable event on the library calendar. Team members will read four novels over the course of the term and then come together for an evening event for a quiz and a creative round. We can’t wait!
