A message from the Principal

Earlier this week you would have received a Compass notification that bookings are open for our Term 3 Parent Teacher Interviews next week.

With students having recently received their half-year school reports, it is a perfect time to get together with your child's class teacher to discuss their progress, ask any questions and talk about the ways we can set them up for success in the second half of the year.

We know that success at school for children depends on a close partnership between home and school.

For this reason, reporting student progress to parents is a major focus for our teachers - not only have they completed the Semester One reports via Compass, which provided you with details of their performance against the 'progression points' of the Victorian Curriculum and a detailed comment on their social and emotional development, but they have also spent a lot of time sharing actual examples of your child's learning in class and their comments and goals via Seesaw.

Our teachers have been busy regularly uploading samples of learning for each child in Reading, Writing, Maths, Art, Performing Arts, STEM and Italian. By now, your child will have a portfolio of their work in class, demonstrating their progress through photos, videos, audio recordings and written comments. Teachers (and sometimes the students themselves) have reflected on the learning that has taken place, highlighting the key points and setting out the next steps.

If you have not yet done this, please login to Seesaw and take some time to view your child's learning and to listen to the reflections and comments made. Teachers are able to see when a work sample has been 'seen' by parents and we are really keen that you get involved with this process. If you have mislaid your login details and instructions on how to access Seesaw, please email your child's teacher and they can provide these to you quickly and easily.

Parent Teacher interview bookings can be made by logging into Compass and clicking on the 'click here for booking' link from your homepage.

Further details on how to make a booking can be found in the below document.

Bookings close at 9pm this Sunday so please ensure you have logged in and made your booking by this point.
