This week’s newsletter has important updates of key dates and events (also sent out yesterday on Compass) that I encourage you be across early so that you can prioritise those that you wish to be a part of. One of the more significant changes to the landscape of school events is a ruling that Time In Lieu is now required to be acquitted for staff when events are scheduled outside of a 38-hour week. We been able to minimise this impact on many events and activities, such as camps, Grade 6 Graduation and the Soiree. Christmas Carols, however, is one event that we have shifted to during the working week (see below). We very much value your engagement in events such as Carols, and your child’s education more broadly, and thus will always endeavour to find times that will hopefully maximise attendance and minimise inconvenience for you. Should you have any questions regarding any of the events below, please contact us.

End-of-Year Events & Dates

Christmas Carols will be held on Friday 15th December from 2:00 - 3:30pm. We very much welcome and encourage parents to attend this event as you always have, and hope that you can come and enjoy the students getting festive!

Final Assembly will be on Tuesday 19th December at 1:00pm for all students before a 1:30pm dismissal.

End of Year Dismissal will be at 1:30pm on Tuesday 19th December, instead of Wednesday 20th at 1:30pm.

The Curriculum Day has changed from Friday 15th December to Wednesday 20th December to minimise disruption to families, as we know it is difficult to organise care the week before most parents finish work. As above, this means all students simply finish 24 hours earlier, but will be in attendance for the full week prior.

An overview, is viewable in the ‘New and Important Dates’ section here and on the Compass Calendar.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Positive relationships between home and school are vital to your child’s success at school.  Parent Teacher Interviews (PTIs) occur twice a year and provide an opportunity for the teacher to provide feedback to you on your child’s progress and the chance to feed-forward any information that may further support your child’s success at school.

Parent Teacher Interviews will occur in the week of 28th August. Bookings will be open from Thursday 17th August (tomorrow) at 9:00am. Please use the ‘Conferences’ feature located under the ‘More’ tab in the Compass app to book. Should you have any difficulties, please contact the office or your child’s teacher.

BYOD Information Evening

This year we will be bringing back the information evening for Grade 3 parents to support participation in the BYOD iPad Program that we have from Grades 4-6. This is scheduled for Wednesday, October 25th at 7:00 pm and will be conducted online. More information will follow closer to the event.

Foundation (Prep) Transition

Our Transition Program for Foundation students starting school next year begins in a fortnight on the 30th of August. We look forward to welcoming all enrolled students to this first of several transition sessions over the coming months. If you have a child starting school and have not yet enrolled (or know of someone that hasn't), please contact the office immediately.

Parent Opinion Survey

Many thanks to the 20+ families that have already responded to the Parent Opinion Survey so far. If you are one of the 130 families that received the survey, I hope you take the time to complete the survey as we very much appreciate your feedback.
