Year 7 Systems  

Our Year 7 systems students have been learning all about Simple Machines in the last couple of weeks and have been making model catapults to demonstrate their knowledge of Levers and stored energy in elastic bands. Some students had great success, managing to catapult a paper ball many meters, whilst others needed to rethink their design to have it move forwards not back. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Overall, our students have been doing a great job and are now working on beginning their project for the term, The Make a Difference project. More information about this to come! 

Year 8 Food Studies 

Our Year 8 students have been learning to get back into the Kitchen this term, starting off slowly with some knife skills and have worked into learning about Cross Contamination and putting that to the test by making Chicken Souvlaki’s. All students did amazing work slicing up their chicken, without contaminating their other ingredients. They were super vigilant when cooking their chicken and ensured it was completely cooked before taking it out of the pan. No one got sick which is a bonus 😂. 

Next up is their Taco design task, keep an eye out to see the mouth-watering goodness on the Instagram.
