Discover
This year, the theme of the Year 10’s has been ‘Discover’ and this sense of discovery has been very evident to start off Term 3. Already students have visited Universities and TAFEs which has started the conversation for many about what the future holds for them and where their passions will lead them. On Wednesday, students were able to further explore their options by completing their subject selection interviews. They have been given valuable insights into the process through the Explore program and the tireless effort of the Careers team to ensure that they are as best equipped as possible to be able to discover and achieve their goals in life. It is really encouraged for you to continue these conversations at home and push your child to continue planning for their future.
VM School Based Apprenticeships
Last week, interviews for the VM School Based Apprenticeships were held. The high level of preparation and enthusiasm towards this interview process was impressive and everyone that interviewed should be proud of the maturity and dedication that they showed. The applicants needed to show that they have thought of a career plan and how they were going to achieve it. Many students have already approached workplaces and organised for them to complete their school based apprenticeship there. This is a really great opportunity for students to get some useful work experience and develop employability skills.
Senior Ball - Thu 24 Aug
The big event of the Year 10 Calendar is also fast approaching. The Senior Ball is shaping up to be an amazing event. Make sure that you get a ticket and get your outfit sorted. It will be a fantastic opportunity to get to know your peers and you will definitely leave with lifelong memories.
