Walk or Wheel Wednesday Winners!

We are thrilled to announce that we have won the Walk or Wheel Wednesday competition! Thanks to everyone's participation and dedication to leaving the car behind, we have achieved first place in this event.  Boroondara Council has acknowledged our efforts and, as a result, we will be hosting a Smoothie Bike Morning to celebrate our achievement on Friday 25 August.

It was fantastic to see every student actively embracing the idea of walking, scooting or cycling to school, experiencing the benefits of fresh air and exercise before the start of the day.  With an impressive average of 4.1 times each student walked or wheeled throughout the term, we were tied for first place with Kew Primary School, with Chatham Primary School coming in third place.  Let's keep up the spirit of eco-friendly commuting and continue to make a positive impact on our environment and well-being.

Thank you once again to everyone for your unwavering support and enthusiasm!

Seedlings for Spring Stall

Last Thursday after school we had our first 'Seedlings for Spring' stall.  It was fantastic to witness the overwhelming support as everyone eagerly purchased bamboo toothbrushes, fresh herbs, and worm juice, all while encouraging sustainability.  It was with this support that we were able to raise $100 to purchase seedlings to plant around the school.

A special shout out to the amazing Green Team who ran the store with passion and dedication.

We look forward to hosting more stalls in the future and would like to thank everyone who visited and supported our initiative, your engagement is vital in furthering our sustainability goals.

Farmer’s Pick

We are thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration with Farmer’s Pick that will bring a bounty of fresh and healthy produce to your households every fortnight.  With the Farmers' Pick program, we're taking the commitment to the next level by ensuring easy access to locally-sourced, farm-fresh fruits and vegetables for our school community.

Introducing Farmers' Pick subscription boxes – a partnership that promotes nutrition, supports local farmers, and addresses food waste by rescuing rejected fruits and vegetables.  Farmer’s Pick boxes are 30% cheaper than supermarkets and provide you with fresh seasonal produce. This initiative will support Solway’s vision of a more sustainable future with $5 from every box going to our ‘Seedlings for Spring’ campaign.

Please stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
