Year 11 & 12 VM North Campground
Our Years 11 and 12 students have been busy preparing the campground area for the upcoming Year 5 and 6 ‘Into the Wild’ program. The senior students will be running a wide range of outdoor games and activities for the primary students so they’re finalising the bench seats and collecting firewood for our campfire cooking sessions. Mr Siede has done a brilliant job coordinating this project.
Bayside Sponsors Riri from Indonesia
The Compassion Community Markets have raised enough money for the VM students to sponsor another young person from Indonesia. We focus on supporting people the same age as our students through Compassion and Riri’s life will be transformed through this program.
She wants to be a minister when she’s older and will have an enormous impact on her local community. Riri joins Anton and Krisna, who were sponsored in 2022. A massive thank you to the entire VM team and Mr Justin Mason / Mr Ben Kelly for playing such a huge role in making our markets so successful.
Indigenous Tree Planting
Our Years 10, 11 & 12 VM students worked hard last week to plant 100 local endemic Eucalypts in the school’s Indigenous zone on the North Campus. These trees will provide shade for our animals once they’re established and will help to increase Biodiversity values in this zone.
Year 12 VM Cafe is Open
The amazing Mrs Ulli Austermann has been working hard to coordinate the cafe on the North Campus and it’s up and running through recess and lunch each Thursday. Feel free to come and grab a coffee and something from the winter menu put together by the Year 12 VM students.
