Welcome back to Term 3. I hope everyone had a lovely break and had time to reconnect and relax. Term 3 is going to be extremely busy with events such as the School Concert, Redtember Day, Parent Teacher Meetings, Book Week parade, Stage 3 Excursion, Bathurst Eisteddfod and NAIDOC Week Celebrations.
Assistant Principals are again producing their Term Newsletter to inform parents of what is occurring in each stage during Term 3. Please keep an eye out for this information.
Our School Concert Tickets went on sale through the BMEC box office yesterday. You can secure your ticket by contacting the BMEC box office online, in person or by phone. A reminder that our School Concert will take place at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre (BMEC) on Wednesday 9th August, 2023. There will be a matinee performance commencing at 11am and an evening performance commencing at 6.30pm. The concert is expected to run for 2 hours. All children K-6 will be involved in this year's concert with the theme for the concert being 'Disney 100 Years'! We are so excited about the plans we have. Costumes have been ordered and are currently arriving. They look incredible! Don't forget to pay the $10 costume fee for your child to the school as soon as possible.
At the end of Term 2, we were able to complete the field event component of the Athletics Carnival and announce our age champions and champion house. Congratulations to all of our children on their participation in this years track and field events. We had record numbers of competitors. The following are the final results;

The 2023 Champion House was Hargraves. Well done to the children and staff in Hargraves.
Congratulations to the following 53 children who have qualified to attend the Bathurst District PSSA Athletics Carnival to be held next Wednesday 26th July (for 1500m only) and Thursday 27th July (for all track and field events) at MacKillop College. Today we have four children from our Multicultural Public Speaking team competing in the finals of the NSW Public Schools Multicultural Public Speaking Competition. We wish the four finalists, Amira, Beau, Lilly and Sophie the best of luck.
Good luck to our Bathurst PS 'white' debating team who will have their debate against Orange PS this Friday via zoom. The 'white' team consisting of Nikki Allan, Georgie Weal, Ruqaya Said and Madalyn Robb are well prepared and ready to go. Good luck to the team and Ms Lloyd.
Our Stage 3 children are attending their camp at 'The Tops' Conference Centre at Stanwell Tops in Week 7, from Tuesday 29th August - Friday 1st September. The cost of the excursion is $560. Parents are reminded to ensure they have paid their $50 non refundable deposit to ensure your child's place is confirmed. The total amount of the excursion must be paid no later then Monday 14th August please as the school is required to confirm final numbers and make the final payment the following day.
We thank parents for continuing to contact us to inform us about your child's absence from school. We are continuing with the Everyday Matters Attendance Campaign that has been launched by the Department of Education. We are following up student absence on a daily basis through SMS and phone calls. We ask parents to continue responding to SMS messages explaining absences or contacting the school by email or phone to inform us about your child's absence from school.
