Principal's Report -

Week 3

School Council

We had our first school council meeting this week. I informed the council that Bec Gathercole is teaching three days a week this year, Monday, Tuesdays and Thursdays while I continue to teach on Wednesdays and Fridays in the 4-6 classroom. This year we have continued to run all the same programs as last year; Italian, Music, Art, SAKG, Library, Bluearth, Swimming and Bike Ed.

I presented the Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) to the council. I explained that our goals for  2019 year are;

- To improve student learning growth and gain in Writing,

- To improve student learning growth and gain in Numeracy.

The teaching staff have set targets in these areas focusing to achieve high growth in all our students here at Moyhu Primary. Last year a lot of focus was placed on our teaching of numeracy, which resulted in some excellent outcomes. Our focus this year is to improve our teaching of writing with all our children and to maintain the continued improvement in number outcomes. If anyone wants to have a look at our school's AIP or discuss any of the above, please come and see me.

School Council AGM

Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday 18th March. If you are interested in joining school council please come and see me over the next couple of weeks.

School Captains

All of our year 6 students recently went for the school captains role. All the students presented themselves well and gave great speeches. Every student demonstrated that they are capable of being a captain and  showed their enthusiasm for being a part of their school which makes me proud. All students and staff voted. We are proud to announce that Audrey Proft and Lily Shanley are our captains for 2019. I am sure they will do a great job.

Year 6 Tops

The year 6 students look great in their new year 6 t-shirts and windcheaters. A big thank you to Emma and Chris Shanley (Lily's parents) for their time in printing these and having them ready for the start of the year. They look fantastic.

SHOW US YOUR WHEELS

A quick reminder that our major school fundraiser is this Sunday the 24th February. Thank you to everyone who has put their hand up to help over this weekend. It is a great fundraiser for our school. The weather is looking perfect for the day. If you haven't put your name down but can still come along, please do, as mentioned previously it is a fun day for all of our families.

Also everyone is invited to come along for an hour or two this Friday from 5:30pm onwards in the school kitchen. This is to do some baking for Sunday and have some drinks and nibbles and catch up too!

See you all on Sunday!
