CSEF (Camps, Sports & Excursions Fund)

This is a reminder that CSEF forms are due back at CHS reception.  This fund is available to families who hold a current eligible Centrelink Health Care Card (HCC) or Pensioner Concession Card (PCC).

Application forms are available at reception or alternatively, please download the attached form (directly above) from this newsletter.

Library

The library is growing space and we have exhausted our current space for our much expanded fiction collection now available to borrow. While we wait for the construction of our new library later this year, in the interim we are seeking additional bookcases so that we can display additional books in our current reading area. If you have a spare bookcase at home that you would be willing to donate to the library, please take a photo and send it, with measurements, to info@coburg.vic.edu.au so that we can see if it fits in the space available.

Thanks so much in anticipation

Year 7 Lockers

Some Year 7 lockers are being upgraded to the stronger plastic lockers which will require students to supply their own padlock. Students will know that their locker is to be upgraded by the arrival of new lockers behind their current ones. Students are expected to move their belongings within three days (giving them enough time to supply a lock). Once they have moved into their new locker, they are asked to return their current school locker key to reception.

Start Time

Classes begin at 9:00am every day and students should aim to be at school no later than 8:45am. Students who are late must sign in via the Compass Kiosk in Reception (but this should be a rare occurrence).  It is important that students are on time to school so that they are learning as much as possible.

First Aid

Students must report to First Aid when feeling unwell, before they contact their parents.  Parents are not to collect their child from First Aid unless contacted by CHS Administration & First Aid Staff.

If your child is unwell, please do not send them to school and if your child has a pre-existing injury please ensure it is adequately bandaged or strapped prior to attending school.  First Aid supplies are only meant to be provided for injuries or mishaps that have occurred at school.

Donations

Coburg High School aims for every student to be successful, safe and happy throughout their time at school. At times there are students who may not have access to resources to complete their learning. It is always greatly appreciated when current or past students and families contribute to the school by donating clothing, books and or miscellaneous school items. Such donations can be placed in the donations tub (picture shown below) in front of ground-level Building A staffroom.

Again, any donations made will be greatly appreciated by the everyone at Coburg High School.
