New Staff 2020

Jarn Osman

I cannot wait to start the 2020 school year at South Melbourne Park Primary School as the new Physical Education Teacher. I have taught all primary year levels for numerous years at Coburg West Primary School and in the last four years I have specialised in teaching Physical Education. This year I am fortunate enough to continue teaching Physical Education across both schools.

I look forward to incorporating the highly impressive facilities surrounding South Melbourne Park Primary School into the Physical Education Program. I am passionate about providing opportunities for every child to succeed both on and off the court. My goal is to inspire students to recognise their potential, how to achieve this and to equip with them the necessary skills and knowledge essential to participate in life long physical activity and sport.

Nick Lovett

Hello!

My name is Nick Lovett and I am extremely excited to be joining the Prep Team at South Melbourne Park Primary School. I have been teaching at Sunshine Primary School for the past six years, five of those in prep, and looking forward to the new adventure at SMPPS. I believe that I owe it to my students, as well as the community, to bring consistency, diligence, and warmth to teaching in the hope that I can ultimately inspire and encourage my students. Every student deserves the opportunity to achieve their learning potential, which can be achieved by building positive relationships between teacher and student and collaboratively working within supportive school community.

Noha Soulibe

Hi everyone, my name is Noha and I am thrilled to be joining South Melbourne Park Primary this year as a foundation teacher. For the past two years I have taught a composite grade 3/4 class at Coburg Primary School. Prior to my teaching career I studied media and communications at La Trobe University. I worked as a media advisor for a federal member of parliament and then went on to work in production at Channel 9. Despite the exciting environment I was in, I knew I needed to find a more fulfilling career which led me to teaching. It was the scariest but best decision I have ever made. As a teacher I am very passionate about creating a nurturing and safe learning environment for my students to foster a love for learning not only academically but emotionally and socially. I feel very blessed to be part of this amazing school community and can’t wait to meet you all.

Emily Kurts

Hi There! I am so happy to be working in the Grade One team and getting to know the students and families at South Melbourne Park Primary School. This is my 12th year of teaching and my first year at SMMPS. I am excited to start my journey at this innovative school that inspires curiosity and independent thinking. Previously, I have taught 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6. Outside of school, I love to read, spend time with family and friends, and I don’t mind a good Sci-Fi TV show! A huge passion of mine is travel and a personal accomplishment is that I have been to all seven continents. I am also a trained make-up artist, I used to run my own bridal business but now focus on friends and family and having fun with it! I look forward to meeting you all. Bring on 2020!

Bruce Huynh

Hello everyone!

My name is Bruce Huynh and I am incredibly humbled to be joining the inspirational community at South Melbourne Park as a multi-age teacher! Although only a graduate teacher, I have been an Integration aide for the last five years, an academic and practical member of the Department of Education’s National Exceptional Teaching for Disadvantaged Schools, taught in Indigenous Rural communities in Northern Territory and just recently was appointed the state VIC Country Coach for Ultimate Frisbee.

The art of nurturing the joy of learning starts by understanding our students for who they are and how they learn. Therefore, I strive to create a supportive classroom environment in which students dread to be absent in, due to their intrinsic ability to shape and explore new learning opportunities as a ‘class family’. I have a tremendous passion for teaching students with additional needs and desire to inspire students to become internationally minded to empower themselves and contribute to the real world.

Sarah Atkins

Hello everyone!

My name is Sarah Atkins and I am excited to be joining the vibrant community, that is South Melb. Park Primary.  I have been appointed as an Education Support Officer, whereby my role will be to support the wonderful teachers, in ensuring that students with individual and additional needs, are effectively supported, in and out of the classroom.  Most importantly, I believe in advocating for the child with additional needs, and I feel humbled to be entrusted with such a great responsibility.  With this, I also firmly believe in inclusive education, and feel that an inclusive learning environment, produces positive educational outcomes for all students.  I look forward to meeting you all and have no doubt that 2020 will be an exciting year.

Vy Vu

Greetings! My name is Vy Vu and I am the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Teacher at SMPPS. I am excited to be at SMPPS and bring out the creativity of students through STEM. I am excited to be part of SMPPS continuing to conduct experiments and inquiry-based projects using our STEM skills.
