S.T.E.A.M week

Science week is coming to Mount View!

Mount View Primary will be celebrating National Science week during Week 6 –19th August to 23rd August.

 

“Destination Moon: more missions, more science is the national theme for Science week; marking 50 years since the Apollo 11 moon landing. 

 

The theme allows for schools to engage in discovering the concept of solving problems and investigating the unknown, in order to better understand the world we live in.

 

What will it look like at Mount View this year?

 

In the classroom: 

Engaging with STEAM tasks 

Focusing on ‘more science’ and problem solving

At lunchtime:

An optional ‘Moon landing’ competition across the year levels with great prizes to be won – more information to come shortly!

For the community:

Open Afternoon - Tuesday 20th August: 3:00pm – 4:00pm – welcoming families to join their children in STEAM challenges and science inquiries in the classrooms.

Year 2 Family night - Tuesday 20th August: 6:30-8:00pm - More information coming home soon- please note spaces are limited
