TCE Special Provision

The Office of Tasmanian Assessment Standards and Certification allows special consideration to candidates who are unable to be assessed in the same way as other students.

Consideration may include allowances such as additional time, spelling consideration, special seating, etc. To gain this, students need to provide evidence to support their claim and it is preferable that this is done early in the year. If you feel your child may be eligible for some form of special consideration please ask them to see Jane Morrison.

Applications to TASC close at the end of Term 2.

IBDP Inclusive Access Arrangements

The IB believes that all candidates should be allowed to demonstrate their ability under assessment conditions that are as fair as possible. Standard assessment conditions may put some candidates at a disadvantage by preventing them from demonstrating their level of attainment. Inclusive access arrangements may be applied in these circumstances if it is observed that they could reduce or minimise barriers for the candidate. Arrangements may include additional time, rest periods, amongst other possibilities. If you feel your child may be eligible please ask them to see Sarah Walker.

Melbourne Art Excursion

An Art excursion to Melbourne has been arranged for members of the IB Visual Art and Studio Practice classes. This is an optional trip. We will be leaving in the morning on Friday 14 February and will return in the evening on Saturday 15 February. This trip will be a wonderful experience for the students. We will visit several exhibitions at the NGV International and the Ian Potter Gallery, including Keith Haring/Jean-Michel Basquiat, Kaws, Colin McCahan, Roger Kemp, Sherin Nashat and much more. IB students will be attending the Victorian Visual Art Exhibition and Seminar on Saturday, learning about the course from highly skilled teachers and IB examiners. There will be guest artists, who will talk about their art practice, as well as several graduating students who will discuss their journey through the course.
