2021 Scholarship Applications Now Open
Applications for Merit, Music and Boarding Scholarships are now open for 2021. Applications close 9am Monday 23 March 2020. Music auditions will be held on Friday 27 March 2020. Merit examinations will be held at the School on Saturday 28 March 2020.
Scholarship applications are submitted online and there is no cost to apply.

Ticket to Play – sports voucher program
Ticket to Play is a Tasmanian Government initiative designed to reduce the cost of participating in club sporting activities for Tasmanian children. Ticket to Play provides vouchers up to $100 in value towards club membership for children aged 5-17 years and listed on a Centrelink Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card or in Out of Home Care. The key objective of Ticket to Play is to increase the number of young Tasmanians playing sport and supporting the Tasmanian Government’s objective of Tasmania being the healthiest population by 2025.

Second Hand Sports Equipment
The School Shop currently has a wide selection of second-hand sports equipment available including soccer boots, futsal shoes, hockey sticks and shin pads. The sale of second hand items through the Shop is provided as a service to the School community allowing families to recycle outgrown or no longer needed items with a portion of the commission being donated directly to the P&F.
Reminder: Emailing of Fee Statements
A reminder that the School Fee Statements will be emailed to the nominated parent/guardian email account at the beginning of Week 3. The emailing of the fee statements will replace the hard copy letter via the post.
Please ensure you check your spam or junk email folders to ensure you have received these statements. Statements will be coming from the email address friends@pml.com.au. If you have any queries, please don't hesitate to contact the Accounts Office at fees@friends.tas.edu.au

All Friends' parents, carers and guardians are warmly invited to attend 'Welcome 2020 Parent Drinks', to meet or catch up with parents and other members of the School community.

Quaker Meetings for Worship
All members of The Friends’ School community are welcome to attend our Meeting for Worship any Sunday from 10.00am, closing about 11.00, with morning tea available afterwards.
Children are always welcome and there is a Children’s Meeting held concurrently with the Meeting for Worship. They learn about Quaker values through a range of interesting and fun activities. Around 10.50 the children join the Meeting for Worship, settling into the gathered Meeting for the last 10 minutes, usually sitting with their parents.

Community Yoga
Community Yoga at Friends' is now in its tenth year and welcomes anybody in the School community. We meet in The Farrall Centre, 7.45am each Wednesday. Each week there is the opportunity to breathe, stretch and relax. So join us to energise yourself and to find a moment of stillness amidst the busyness of life.
