Christmas Stars

This year we will again be running the charity Christmas stars. Children are encouraged to buy a star to put on the school Christmas tree.

All money raised will go to Berry Street, a non-profit organisation that supports Victorian children and families with services such as foster care. 

We will be supporting their 'Berry Merry Christmas' campaign to help share the spirit of Christmas with children who have never experienced the joy of opening a gift on Christmas morning. More information on Berry Street and the fabulous work they do can be found at www.berrystreet.org.au. 

Junior School Councillors will be coming around to classrooms to sell the stars. Stars can be purchased for $5, $10 or $20, or you can nominate your own donation amount. Children can decorate their star and place it on the school Christmas tree. Stars will be on sale until Friday 13th December.

Bush Picnic & Dance Party

The weather was good, the atmosphere vibrant and the dancing a blast. Over 100 families took part in this community, FUNraising event on Saturday night and it was indeed a lot of fun.

Children raced to get their lucky jars, families chatted and ate together, and the wood-fired pizzas were a hit.

Both children and parents showed off their throwing skills in the energetic gumboot toss.

The band entertained us, as well as teaching some great bush dances, then the disco fired up and the party kicked on. Thank you to everyone who came long.

An extra big thank you to all the volunteers who helped out setting up, serving on stalls and packing up on the night, with a special mention to the organising committee who put in a lot of work over the last few months to pull it all together, in particular - Darrell Mason, Rachel Marsden, Joanne Lazarou, Debbie Hammon, Helen Merry and Anouk Sherman. Also thanks to Matthew McGeehan for donating his DJ services.
