Art
It’s been another busy couple of weeks in the art room.
Preps have been creating artwork linked to the theme ‘All about me’. They’ve been introduced to water colour paint this week and were excited to learn that we’ll be doing more painting soon.
Grade 1 & 2 have been inspired by the artist Joan Miro to create collaborative, large-scale artwork using the 3 primary colours, shape and line. It was a challenge to work together on the one artwork but students were able to negotiate & discuss their ideas well.
Grade 3 & 4 have been finalising their artworks exploring the art element line. They’ve created some beautiful drawings of birds & had fun exploring printing leafs for their backgrounds.
Grade 5 & 6 are continuing to work expressively on their abstract paintings which will be constructed into a unique kind of book called an ‘explosion’ book. I’m really looking forward to see these amazing works completed.
And lastly, a reminder for families yet to bring in an art smock to school. There’s a tub in each classroom for students to keep their labelled smocks – it protects those uniforms from getting unwanted paint on them!
