Grade 2
Welcome to year two’s FUN newsletter. Where we tell you all of the fun and exciting things that the Year Two students have been up to in the past few weeks.
Kaboom Sports
On the 25th of February the whole school participated in Kaboom sports out on the oval. They got to spend 90 minutes rotating through some awesome activities such as the giant inflatable dart board, ping pong world, circus skills, mini golf, fruit frisbee, and wacky wheel. The students had lots of fun and were able to build on their skills and teamwork whilst enjoying some movement and unique activities outside.
2C’s Classroom move
Grade 2C recently moved into the amphitheatre. This room has provided us with a new and flexible learning environment. We are really enjoying our new classroom. We have moved our mathematics room to the wet area, where we use our bean bags and lap desks. We love working in learning community 3.
Netball Clinic
We were super excited to have two netball experts from Casey Netball Association come to our school. Our netball experts taught us some netball fundamental skills like passing, pivoting and catching. We also participated in some fun warm up and cool down games. We might have the next Liz Watson or Kate Moloney attending our school.
AFL Clinic
To kick off the AFL season, we had two amazing football athletes come to Grayling Primary School to teach us. We learnt so much about AFL! We learnt about chest marks, butterfly marks, kicking, and handballing. We were very impressed with the development of skill throughout the clinic.
New Grayling Chicks
In the past few weeks we have welcomed another bunch of Grayling chicks to the school. Their names are Dorrit, Banksy, Freckle, Stripe, Sprinkles, and Shadow. The kids have enjoyed meeting them and got the chance to hold them during STEM lessons this week.
Kind regards, Miss Thornton, Mr Hallett and Mrs Bell
