"Many Wolves .... One Pack"

TERM 1 - WEEK 4

To the St Nicholas School Community

Ash Wednesday

Yesterday our 2022 Lenten journey began with Ash Wednesday. Our primary students recognised this day of great importance by celebrating Mass. Our Infant’s children marked the beginning of Lent with a liturgy.

As we prepare ourselves for Easter, I am reminded of the words of our former Pope. “Each year, Lent offers us a providential opportunity to deepen the meaning and value of our Christian lives, and it stimulates us to rediscover the mercy of God so that we, in turn, become more merciful toward our brothers and sisters. In the Lenten period, the Church makes it her duty to propose some specific tasks that accompany the faithful concretely in this process of interior renewal: these are prayer, fasting and almsgiving” (Pope Benedict XVI).

Swimming Carnival

Please enjoy the short highlights video of our highly successful swimming carnival.

Advisory Council- Nomination forms

On Tuesday, through the Compass Parent Portal I forwarded the school community a letter calling for nominations to the school Advisory Council. Please think seriously about supporting our school through this dedicated body.

PT&F Executive Committee Update

A big thank you to Mrs Hanna Klasen (Matilda 4P & Ella 6E) for putting her hand up for the PT&F School Advisory Board Representative.  We appreciate your commitment Hanna.

Commissioning of 2022 St Nicholas School Student Leaders

Tomorrow, in the company of proud parents, our 2022 St Nicholas School Student Leaders will be inducted to their roles. Being elected to positions of responsibility brings great pride to these students and their families. Congratulations!

Leadership also brings challenges. Throughout 2022 our Year 6 leaders, badge and non badge wearers, will be supported in the development of their leadership skills. On Tuesday, leadership workshops will be accessed by students either onsite here at school or in Sydney at the Halogen Young Leaders Day. I congratulate our Year 6 teachers for their commitment to provide our students with a well rounded education, including the development of each individual’s leadership capabilities.

Men's Gathering

On Tuesday, I shared with our families a letter inviting our fathers to join the parish at a Men’s  Gathering on the 19th March. Please reach out if you have any questions or believe I can offer any support.

Have a wonderful week!

John Clery
