Grade 6 Flood Appeal

Dear Parents/Carers,

Each year our Grade 6 leaders choose a charity or organisation to raise money for.

This year, our students have chosen to raise money for the families of St Carthage’s Primary School in Lismore. This school has lost almost all of their buildings and facilities in the floods, and around 40 per cent of the school community has lost  homes and businesses.

The Grade 6's have decided to run a “coin challenge”. Each classroom has been given a “money box” to raise as much money as they can through coin donations.

The class which raises the most money will be treated to a pizza lunch early next term.

The fundraiser will run until the end of this term.

The grade 6's would be very grateful of your support in their venture to help St Carthage’s.

Thank you - Lynne, Kate and the Grade 6 students.

PSGs~ Program Support Group Meetings Term 1

Our Program Support Group Meetings are being held on Thursday 31st March and Friday 1st April. These are meetings held at scheduled times throughout the year to support children who require additional support at school.

An email will be sent to those families required to book these meetings.

In 2021, families were contacted by phone or email to schedule a meeting time.

This year we will be using the Parent Teacher Interviews module in PAM to make these bookings. Appointment times will be open today at 1:00pm.

If you do not receive an email and would like to meet with your child’s teacher, please contact your child’s teacher.

Autumn fun in the garden!

The wonderful gardeners have shown great interest in the garden this term. They tidied up all the weeds after the Summer break and are now planting the Winter vegetables whilst there is still warmth to get them growing. It’s wonderful playing in the garden during lunch time and fabulous to see such enthusiasm to get your hands dirty.

Join in the fun on a Tuesday and Friday lunchtime. Head gardeners in year 5, Gwen Scott, Sybella Byrne and Aurora Turner will guide you in activities. Come and enjoy nature together.

END OF DAY ROUTINE

If your child needs to change their ‘End Of Day Routine’ please confirm the change to the School Office before 3:00pm.  It can be very difficult for crossing supervisors and distressing for the children if they are not sure of their destinations.

Please use the email below, including your child's name, class and new pick up point. Also indicate if your child is NOT aware of this change so they can be notified.

Email: endofday@shcolac.catholic.edu.au

This is our preferred method, however you can still phone the school office should you not have access to an email facility.

WE ARE SUNSMART

When it comes to using sun protection, temperature isn't a good guide. You can’t see or feel UV but UV is the part of the sun that can damage skin and eyes and lead to skin cancer. SunSmart advises that Victoria’s UV levels start to rise from mid-August.

Please remind your child to pack their hat . For SunSmart information visit https://www.sunsmart.com.au/communities/parents

2022 - UNIFORM SHOP WILL BE OPEN ON FRIDAY'S BY AN APPOINTMENT

Due to government restrictions our Uniform shop can only operate on an appointment basis.  You can call our office at anytime to schedule an appointment on a Friday during Uniform shop hours. If you are unable to attend on Uniform day, Richelle will still be available to take your orders by phoning on a Friday during our uniform shop hours which are 10am - 12noon.  From there you will place your order and payment will be made at that time. All orders will be packed and sent home each Friday with your child.

Alternatively, you can download the order form from our website or your PAM account via ‘knowledge bank’.  Complete the form and send it with the correct money with your child or phone for payment on Friday.

If sizing is an issue, you are able to send clothing back (still with tags) and it will be swapped over for you...children are unable to be called up to office

to be sized for clothing anymore.    We thank you for your cooperation.
