Thanh Nguyen, Secondary Mathematics Teacher

Thanh comes to Huntingtower after teaching at Korowa Anglican Girls’ School for the last twelve years in the mathematical domain from Years 7-12. Thanh holds a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Science. She is deeply connected to the values expressed by Huntingtower, which allow for a warm and inviting environment for students where she can equip them with the skills and knowledge to shape their own understandings of the world.

 

 

Sara Gavillucci, Secondary Teacher – Legal Studies & Geography

Sara will be sharing her passion for Law and Geography as a new graduate teacher. Sara believes in bringing enthusiasm into the classroom and creating an environment that engages students in deep learning and provides them support through structure.

Sara holds a Master of Teaching (Secondary) specialising in History and Legal Studies and also a Bachelor of Laws.

 

 

Tamara Sheehan, Assistant Head of Sport

Tamara is not new to Huntingtower, having been a wonderful CRT teacher already. She has over twenty-two years of teaching Health, Physical and Outdoor Education from Early Learning to VCE. She has worked in a variety of schools including Berwick Secondary College, Avila College, Holy Family Primary School and Salesian College. She is passionate about helping students to become independent, confident and responsible learners and developing strong curriculums in Health and Wellbeing. Tamara holds a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) – Physical Education and secondary method in Health and Outdoor Education.

 

 

Ruby Anstee, PE, Health and Food Tech Secondary Teacher

Ruby returns to Huntingtower after graduating as a student in 2014 as a passionate and engaging graduate teacher specialising in Health, Sport and Food Technology. Ruby completed her placements at Huntingtower, Dandenong High School and Keysborough College and is driven by a desire to provide high quality teaching in a safe and supportive environment that uplifts students to meet their fullest potential. Ruby holds a Master of Teaching (Secondary) – Food Technology and Health together with a Bachelor of Food and Nutrition Sciences. 

 

 

Alejandra San Martin, Learning Enrichment Teacher

Alejandra is a dedicated teacher with a passion for learning enrichment. Alejandra has spent the last twenty plus years not only as a classroom teacher but in developing curriculums that are supportive to the needs of students whether it be reading recovery, mathematics intervention, teaching strategies for Dyslexia and Anxiety management to name a few. Her passion is to create positive educational settings for children with diverse needs. Alejandra holds a Bachelor of Arts, Graduate Diploma of Education Primary & Secondary Teaching, Postgraduate Diploma of Education – Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and is currently obtaining accreditation as a Reading Recovery Teacher.

 

 

James Smart, Secondary Mathematics Teacher

James joins Huntingtower, after teaching mathematics at Alphington Grammar, leading classes for all VCE maths since 2017.  He has a deep understanding of the Victorian Mathematics Curriculum, especially for the VCE levels and was invited to write Further Maths SACs for Victoria. He also recently contributed chapters to Jacaranda’s 2022 NSW Mathematics textbooks. James is excited to join the Huntingtower community that places a high emphasis on student wellbeing. James holds a Bachelor of Education majoring in Pure Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science.

 

 

Stefan Sakellaridis, Secondary Teacher – English, Humanities & Media

Stefan returns to Huntingtower as a Graduate Secondary Teacher with a specialised background in History, Humanities and Psychology after graduating in 2017. Stefan completed his placements at Nossal High School, Pakenham Secondary College and River Gum Primary School. Stefan is also an experienced VCE lecturer and has designed and created VCE revision resource packages for over 25 schools. Stefan is passionate about empowering students with knowledge and skills that can help them grow into critical thinkers.

 

 

Alison Howard, Career Pathway Advisor

Alison has been teaching for more than twenty years in Health and Human Development, Food and Technology and Psychology.  She recently created the Navigator program at St Michaels Grammar School which enables staff to work individually with students and their parents, providing mentoring and support and ensuring positive pastoral development and academic progress. There she has also spent the last 12 years in curriculum development, teaching and tutoring. She has recently completed a Graduate certificate in Career Development Practice and is passionate about assisting young people to increase their confidence, self-esteem, job readiness and life skills. Alison also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary).

 

 

Troy Jansen, Theatre Manager/Senior Technician

Troy has over 8 years’ experience working in both public and private schools along with time spent in the professional production and broadcast industry. Troy brings to Huntingtower strong skills in live audio/visual support for events, technical support, post-production editing, creative direction, operations of audio, lighting and video broadcast equipment and student mentoring and training. Troy is passionate about creating a creative and positive culture within the School community and enjoys leading and mentoring students. Troy holds a Certificate 2 - Music Industry and Certificate 4 – TV Broadcasting.

 

 

Danielle Maddaford, Administration Assistant/Receptionist

Danielle is an experienced Receptionist and Administrator having spent the last ten years in Education. Coming to Huntingtower from Erasmus Primary School, Danielle brings with her solid skills in managing the front office and liaising with a variety of stakeholders. She thrives on multi-tasking and is dedicated to providing wonderful customer support services to parents, staff and students of the school.

 

 

Georgia Thompson, Administration Officer

Georgia joins Huntingtower providing administration support in areas of admissions, front office and key members of staff. Being a past student, Georgia brings with her a keen eye for detail, a strong customer service background and solid administrative skills.
