Introducing 2022 College Captains

Our 2022 College Captains are Ulysses Rigano, Emma Lawler, Emma Cameron and Bailey Lubin. Read their introductions below!

Hi, I'm Ulysses Rigano, one of the College Captains for 2022.

I've always loved being a part of Wantirna College since the very start back in year 7. Being part of a positive, growing learning community is what we need more than anything else coming out of our remote learning era to achieve our personal best. I look forward to working with the other Captains in representing the student voice and providing improvements to the school community. I am also looking forward to working with the community and I know this year is going to be an amazing one.

Hey, I’m Emma Lawler and I’m one of this years College Captains.

To quickly introduce myself- I’m a massive science nerd and some of my hobbies include cake decorating and reading. This year I am looking forward to working with the student leaders to build an even stronger community. After the crazy years we’ve had, my goal for 2022 is to help students reengage with their learning and involvement within the school. We’ve had a great start to the year, and I would like to wish everyone the best of luck for what’s to come.

Hiya, Emma Cameron one of the College's Captains for 2022 here!

The agency our school provides for students to find their passion is such a unique and powerful principle that really sets Wantirna apart from other schools in the area. Personally, I have found my heart in the schools phenomenal Performing Arts Program; this year, you'll catch me on stage in the College's Production of Be More Chill, in band and performing in some of the school's many choirs! Outside of the Arts, I am a passionate Lizzy Mcalpine fan, an extreme picnic enthusiast, and have a mild addiction to purchasing happy socks. I'm hoping that everyone's transition back to school this year has been as smooth and manageable as possible. Here's to an exciting, happy-sock-filled 2022!

Hey, I’m Bailey Lubin and I’m one of the College Captains for 2022.

A few things about me, I love sport (especially cricket) and I’m  really into performing arts whether it be singing, playing guitar or in the schools production. I’m really excited to work with all the other student leaders to continue to build a strong school community and ensure that the transition back to school after two years at home goes well for everyone. Been an awesome first few weeks and can’t wait to have an amazing year!

G’day everyone!

My name is Harrison Bedford, and this year I am proud to be one of the Middle Years Captains.

After a couple of tough years, I am excited for what 2022 will bring. Some things you may not know about me are that I really enjoy being a part of the School Production, and the Performing Arts program learning the saxophone. I also enjoy playing footy and cricket, bike riding and hanging out with my mates.

I am really excited to be a part of the Leadership team this year. If you have any questions or ideas, come and see me. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Bring on 2022!

Hello everyone!! My name is Baiden Moroney and this year I am going to be one of the Middle Years Captain. I am excited to give new ideas and help make people feel included. I like to listen to music, and play football and basketball, and you can find me hanging out with friend’s in the orchard. The teams I go for in sports are Oklahoma City Thunder (NBA), North Melbourne (AFL) and Manchester United (Soccer). This year I am very excited to help out our school and cannot wait to see what 2022 brings us!!

Hi everyone! My names Maha, I am in year 8 and one of the Middle Years Captain’s this year! Coming to Wantirna College has given me lots of new opportunities to improve my leadership skills. I am so excited to work with other leaders to improve the school even more this year. One of my favourite highlights from last year was attending Gold Level as I was able to meet many new people. My favourite subjects are Math and English. I love listening to music in my free time.
