Do your students know how to check the books they have on loan? Get them to head to the Library catalogue (use the star dropdown list in Compass) and Login. Next, ask them to hover over their name in the top right hand corner to see a list of options, and choose Loans. They can now see everything they have on loan and if it is overdue. If there are any titles on the list they are no longer reading, please remind them to bring them back to the Library so others have a chance to borrow the books. If they are still reading a book that is overdue, ask them to bring it into the Library and we will renew it for another 4 weeks (caveat - if someone else has it on reserve they will not be able to reborrow, but they can reserve it for when it next comes back). As always, if there are any questions they can come in to the Library and speak to one of the friendly Library staff members.
We are very excited to announce the arrival of our new furniture – comfortable reading chairs, laptop tables, ottomans, variable height seating, extra shelving and magazine display. There has been lots of positive feedback from students and staff. If you are planning on visiting the school on Open Day or Discovery Night, come in and have a look.
Who has seen the debate raging online (or maybe in your home) as to whether there are more doors or wheels in the world? It seems a simple question but defining what is a wheel and door is surprisingly complex. There has been an intense debate happening on the Library Teams page since we asked the question earlier this week, so on Friday lunchtime we held a lively discussion with the aim of convincing Mr Murphy to join either #teamdoor or #teamwheel.
