This week we have been learning about surveys, tally marks and interpreting these. Students enjoyed this discussion and using the language of ‘most popular and ‘least popular’. As you can see, watermelon is a clear winner!
Noah is a handwriting expert with our lowercase ‘h’. He worked really hard to stay in and on the lines. Great work Noah!
We have been doing some Independent writing in Foundation B! We have been practising on our own in the past few weeks and children are encouraged to ‘have a go’ and write down the sounds that they hear. For this activity we first read the book ‘Mrs Wishy Washy’ students then chose something that needed to have a wash in Mrs Wishy Washy’s tub. Have a look at some great examples from Penny, Oscar and Mia!
‘One more SNAP’ last week in maths we focused on numbers that come after. We did lots of different activities such as cut and paste and game boards but this was our favourite. Children had so much fun snapping the number that is one more than the number that they flipped over. Here is Yuvan and Oscar enjoying the game.
Foundation C have been doing a great job during literacy sessions. Kira L has written a recount all by herself. I can’t quite believe she has only been at school for 10 weeks!
We are having lots of discussions and completing activities about regulating our emotions lately. Each student has completed a chart with some chosen strategies that help them to get back into the ‘green zone’. Well done Freya H on making some great choices here!
