Year Four Community News

This week as part of our Shape topic in Maths, the Year 4s explored the Imagination Garden looking for interesting shaped artefacts. Once we had found an artefact, we traced its outline in our Maths books and also calculated its area. We did this by counting up the squares the artefact covered on the grid of our books. Lots of different artefacts were found and their areas varied greatly. There was lots of different leaves, bark, rocks, twigs and even insects (yet we found they were quite challenging to trace).
