Reconciliation

Last Thursday a number of students in Year 3 took part in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. They were joined by other children from St. Christopher's Parish and Holy Xavier School and Parish. Fr Ralph was the primary celebrant. It was evident that the children were well prepared by Miss Mangone.

The sacrament of Reconciliation is also known as Penance and Confession. The sacrament of Reconciliation is a sacrament in which the priest, as the agent of God, forgives sins committed after Baptism. Those taking part sincerely confesses their sins and express a willingness take make things right and be a better person.

By his death on the Cross, Catholics believe that Jesus Christ redeemed man from sin and from the consequences of his sin. The Sacrament of Reconciliation enables us to acknowledge our sins or times when we haven't been the best we can be. Through this Sacrament we are able to move closer to God.
