Resource Centre
Meet the Resource Centre Committee
Keisha Hall - Year 5
Why do you want to join the Resource Centre Committee?
I would like to engage in more leadership opportunities to help me in the future. To express ideas I might have for the school. To assist with decision making. To assist with ideas, to assist with people who may be new or having trouble.
What ideas do you have for the Resource Centre?
- Fundraisers
- Presentations on important topics
- Easter activities
- Christmas activities
- Book Club
- Math Club
- ANZAC Day activities
- Remembrance Day activities
- Australia Day activities
- Food week/dat - dress as a food you love
Why do you think the Resource Centre is important to the school?
There is a library, IPT lab, study blocks and main office. People study there, they can borrow books and much more. It is a great area of the school where lots of people spend their time. I am hard-working and I personally love to spend time at the Resource Centre.
Heidi McIntosh - Year 5
Why do you want to join the Resource Centre Committee?
I want to join Resource Centre Committee because I believe it would be very fun to organise events and help with book week. Not just that but thinking of the amazing feeling of helping out and the joy of students playing board games, laughing, talking and enjoying themselves makes lots of people feel happy.
What ideas do you have for the Resource Centre?
My ideas are maybe like themed book week or people coming at recess too. You could have an author come and visit every term to promote their new books and make a signed copy of their book.
Why do you think the Resource Centre is important to the school?
The Resource Centre is not just a big building where books are kept.
It is a place where at recess and lunch people enjoy themselves, where they can sit down and read a few books. Sometimes it is important to have peace and quiet. This Resource Centre is important to all students because it is the heart of the school.
Willow Martin - Year 6
Why do you want to join the Resource Centre Committee?
It would be an honor to join the committee to be a helping hand. I have been obsessed with books since I first joined Moama Anglican Grammar, reading all the books I found interesting. I would like to join to feel helpful/useful.
What ideas do you have for the Resource Centre?
- A science club (display to advertise)
- An enviro club ( To learn about the environment and try environmental friendly activities)
- Lego club ( a club where students can design lego for invented companies and present them to fellow club members)
Why do you think the Resource Centre is important to the school?
I think the Resource Centre is important because I know it has a purpose to help students learn, have fun etc. I hope to be able to assist in clubs, collaborate with peers and more!
We are also looking for volunteers from the secondary school
The students have already selected different events they want to be part of organising such as Book Week (August), Simultaneous Read (May). They have also placed their name against some Books/activities as part of the new 'Read & Do' club that we are offering to students in the primary school.
Primary Lego and Coding Club
We are also looking for secondary students to run primary Lego and/or Coding activities during lunchtime - days and terms are negotiable.
Clubs
Every Monday between now and the school holidays, Ms Height will be running a 'Read and Do' club for Year 3 & 4 students who will listen to books and then create their own 2D or 3D art piece over the 3 weeks.
Book Club
The Scholastic Book Club orders closed on Wednesday at 11:00am and hopefully the books ordered will arrive soon and be distributed to the students.
