Picking up early?

Picking up early?

Early Departures

It is preferable that all private appointments for students, including medical appointments, are made outside of school hours.

If an appointment needs to be made within school hours, parents/carers need to notify the office via phone (85606079) or email (dohertys.creek.p9.co@education.vic.gov.au) in the morning.

Please note if you do not notify the office prior to walking in and requesting early pick up you will need to be prepared to wait, and reoccurring early pick ups are recorded, monitored and reviewed.

Please help us to support you.

Why is pre-arranging early pickup important?

When you arrive at the office for early pickup that isnotpre-arranged staff need to call the classroom and interrupt the teacher during the lesson. The teacher not only needs to stop mid way through teaching to answer the phone, but then has to organise the pack up of belongings and get the student to the office all during what should be the time of learning.

By organising and communicating early pickup with a member of Admin in the morning the disruption to the classroom can be avoided and we can aim to have your child waiting for you in reception when you arrive.

Every minute counts for success!

Every minute at school counts for success so please consider if picking up early in order to avoid traffic or because the weather is not ideal is really worth the time missed in the classroom.
