Breakfast Club

BREAKFAST CLUB  to COMMENCE AT CSPS in TERM 4.

CSPS is pleased to announce that in Term 4 we will be offering a School Breakfast Club Program.

This program is sponsored by Foodbank Victoria - an independent, not for profit organisation with 90 years food relief experience.

The School Breakfast Clubs Program is a Victorian Initiative delivered in partnership with Foodbank Victoria.

COVID-19 clause:

Parents/carers, please note that whilst COVID related restrictions still continue into Term 4 the Breakfast club will only be available to Foundation to Year 2 students and those eligible  Years 3 -6 students who have permission to be onsite to complete remote learning.

We are excited to be able to offer this program to our Year 3 - 6 students when they return to normal school operations and onsite learning.

Research shows that:

  • On a typical day around three students in every class will arrive at school hungry or without having eaten breakfast.
  • Anecdotal feedback gathered from primary schools suggests there is an improvement in learning outcomes and school attendance for students who participate in the School Breakfast Club program.
  • Schools also report that the socialising aspect of the School Breakfast Club program can lead to an improvement in student behaviours.
  • Breakfast clubs also have many social benefits for students when they sit down and share a meal together and interact with staff and volunteers in an informal setting.

The Program will be led by our School Counsellor David Kennedy.

There is NO cost for the breakfast club - the food has been donated by Foodbank Victoria.
