Sports News

What a different year this has been for the sporting department!

It’s with much disappointment that we let everybody know that inter school sport for Term 4 has been cancelled. Mr Simmonds and I were optimistic that we would see a return to some sports and this was certainly not the outcome we were hoping for.

The exciting news is we now put our full attention into relaunching the lunch time sports. The Year 12 cohort will continue on with the house sports competition started earlier in the term. We will also be looking into creating opportunities for the Year 7-10 year levels, more information to come next term.

Additional good news is that rowing training will be allowed to continue into Term 4. Mr Simmonds will be in contact with all the rowers about how this will all be coordinated in the coming weeks.

The sports department have now made significant upgrades to the facilities and equipment.

  • The school has brand new AFL quality goal posts on the way for the front oval. Changes will also be made to the size of the oval to be more suitable for the school level competitions.
  • The weights gym has been revamped to create a more user friendly environment. A dead lift machine has been added to the collection, along with some new weight bars.
  • The PE equipment has been audited and poor quality equipment replaced.
  • New basketball, football, soccer and hockey uniforms have been purchased for sporting competitions in 2021.

We are also having a fire sale of certain purchasable sporting items in limited sizes:

  • The $10 discount bin
    • Old style basketball shorts
    • BLK soccer shorts
    • Old style BLK athletics singlets
    • Old style running shorts
  • Old style specialist sport tracksuit pants and jackets heavily discounted! (Must be part of the Specialist Sport program to purchase)

For any additional information don’t hesitate to contact either of us on our emails over the school holiday break.

It has been fantastic to see our past and present students out and about exercising. With the spring weather due to move in we encourage all of our students to get out and make the most of lovely weather and keep active over the holiday break.

We look forward to seeing everybody next term!
