The Toucan Appeal

The Secondary Mission Sisters next project is the Toucan Appeal. 

They are asking students to bring in two cans of food which will be donated to those in our community who are struggling to put food on their tables given the current situation we are all living with.

The Mission Sisters are encouraging students to donate a couple of tins of food, which can be anything edible, as long as it is in date. Donations can be left in the tubs that are located in each classroom.

LEGO Brick Build and Give

The Primary Mission Sisters are asking students and families to donate any LEGO or DUPLO bricks and figures that they no longer use. The bricks don’t have to be a complete set or even from the same set, as long as they are LEGO or DUPLO brand bricks. 

There is also no need to bring in any instructions – one of the best things about LEGO, no matter what set they are from, you can use your imagination and bring the bricks to life without instructions.

The bricks and figures can be brought to school and dropped off into the bins located in the College Office or the College Library by the end of Term Three.

From all the LEGO and DUPLO bricks and figures donated, the Primary Mission Sisters will create packs of assorted bricks that will then be donated to the Hobart Womens Shelter and the Migrant Resource Centre for them to put into the hands of children to own and enjoy building new creations.

you are present in the whole universe and in the smallest of your creatures. 

You embrace with your tenderness all that exists.

Fill us with peace, that we may live as brothers and sisters, harming no one. 

O God of the poor, help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten of this earth, so precious in your eyes.

Bring healing to our lives, that we may protect the world and not prey on it, that we may sow beauty, not pollution and destruction. 

Touch the hearts of those who look only for gain at the expense of the poor and the earth.

Teach us to discover the worth of each thing, to be filled with awe and contemplation, to recognize that we are profoundly united with every creature as we journey towards your infinite light. 

We thank you for being with us each day. 

Encourage us, we pray, in our struggle for justice, love and peace.
