What a fantastic achievement for our entire Year 8 English cohort - Congratulations on your efforts in producing such an amazing body of work during remote learning!!
On the last Friday of Term 3 Mr Dowie’s VCE PE class, Year 10 Advanced PE class and 9A SPP class, ran and walked as part of the “Connors Run in September” initiative.
As a celebration for making it through Remote Learning 2.0, through winter and through to the end of Term 3 we asked students to run/walk for 60 minutes. The total distance covered will be published early next term.
The Connors Run foundation raises money for research into brain cancer in children. This year we are just running in recognition of the event and the cause behind it. In 2021 we may be able to create a school event which involves fundraising. Happy Running everybody!
VCAL Garden Project Update
The Year 11 VCAL team had to think creatively as to how we were going to continue with our garden project during remote learning. Students were sent home with vegetable seeds and egg cartons, and were challenged to nurture seedlings for planting in term 4. All was going brilliantly until Layla’s dog destroyed her plants. Then Tamara’s new puppy followed suit. See photo evidence! Yep - the dogs literally ate their homework!!
Student Artworks
Warrnambool College is very pleased to celebrate our latest Art collection acquisitions.
The artworks are currently exhibited in the College front office area.
Self-reg Zones
The year 7G Health class this week explored the new Self-Regulation Room on Compass. The focus of this session was to look at the 4 Zones and how to manage their emotions and self-regulate when in these zones. One activity students completed was to fill their screens with the colour of the zone they would be in when presented with different scenarios.
Move over Manu
Immersing himself in a Bake off challenge for online classes, our very own Monsieur Colin Payne donned his raspberry beret along with a (very dodgy) french accent to whip up a masterpiece, fit for any cooking show!
