Year 5/6 Virtual Camp

This week would have been the time of our Year 5/6 City Camp. So as not to disappoint, our creative Year 5/6 Team put together a Virtual Camp experience for the children to enjoy which commenced yesterday.

Being year A in our camp cycle, this year is a City Camp... an overnight experience venturing through the sites of Melbourne!

On Tuesday children 'wandered' through the laneways of Melbourne taking in the unique graffiti art that makes these places special. They visited the Melbourne Museum and the Shrine of Remembrance in a 'scavenger hunt' format. I'm sure they slept well in their home camp set up!

Today they joined each other for breakfast before setting out to the Old Melbourne Gaol and the Melbourne Zoo to complete their hunt.

Hope they all enjoyed this jam-packed experience and I can't wait to read their camp journals.

Weird and Wonderful Wednesdays:  Lego Masters Day (www.legomastersday)

Today we hosted the first of our Weird and Wonderful Wednesdays - www.legomastersday

Each Year level needed to read and listen to a story prompt before examining a design brief and completing the task.

Children could use a range of construction material from Lego, Duplo, and Meccano to recycled materials from around the home. Those children who prefer working in the digital world were also able to use an online program such as Sketch-up to complete the brief.

For some, this proved a real challenge yet others reveled in the task. We will announce winners at next Monday's Assembly

Please see below for each of the tasks and some of the early submissions!
