SENIOR SCHOOL NEWS

Sarah Bridges

Senior Sub School Manager

As I sit writing this newsletter from home, I hope the start of remote learning has gone well for your child and your families. It is challenging, but also an opportunity for students to become adept at a new way of learning and developing many of the new skills we know will become increasingly important in their post-secondary world. Please be assured, that whilst school is essentially closed, staff are working as normal to support your student’s wellbeing and learning and are available for you to contact with any concerns.

Year 12

As a Senior Sub School teaching and student management team we acknowledge that this is a graduating class that is facing unprecedented challenges. We are all proud of the way they continue to rise to the challenges presented to them. Recent announcements from the Education Minister outline assurances that no students will be disadvantaged and the importance of making the most of opportunities provided by remote teaching and learning and encouragement to continue monitoring our own wellbeing and that of our friends.

Victorian School of Languages

VSL classes for languages are continuing to run as remote learning and we emphasise that attendance along with completion of outcomes continues to be as equally important as all your other subjects. The VSL is impressed with the commitment shown by our students and will continue to support them in every way possible. If there are any concerns, your first point of call is your teacher, but you can also contact head office and they will direct you to the relevant individual to respond to your questions.

Student led activities

Please support our student leaders in their fun and innovative activities. Make your hair crazy on Friday, 21 August, and dress up as your favourite book character the following week. VCAL students are running some exciting and fun games that were enjoyed last time, so break up your day with these games and have a few laughs!

Stay safe
