MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS

Mr Daniel Grozdanovski

Year Level Coordinator - Year 9

Welcome back to Remote Learning 2.0!! All staff thoroughly enjoyed our period back at school together with heaps of positivity and getting you all back into the school lifestyle. We had some changes to the Year 9 and 10 locker bay to allow the students more room between their lockers and to also create an undercover seating area which had just been furnished with some tables and chairs. Hopefully they will get some more use during Term 4.

Now though, we are back to remote learning and it is important that we continue to make positive strides forward. It has been great to see so many kids logging into their classes and completing some outstanding work. It can be very difficult to spend your whole day looking at your computer screens and missing the social interaction with your peers. Keep checking in on compass for some tips from Student Wellbeing on how to manage the remote learning period effectively. There are also competitions running regularly such as the Masked Singer Competition at the moment where you can try and guess which staff/students are behind the mask to earn some points for your house.

I’d also like to acknowledge a couple of outstanding performances in our recent set of progress reports. The following students were able to achieve some fantastic Performance Averages in the last set of reports. Displaying the school values to perfection of Respect, Excellence, Achievement and Diversity. Well done to the following students

Finally, as always everyone at the Middle Sub School is happy to help out wherever possible during these tough times. Contact either Daniel Grozdanovski, Year 9, or Joel McDougall, Year 10. We hope everyone is staying healthy and doing the right thing so we can all get out of this sooner rather than later.

Year 10 Meningococcal Immunisations

All consent cards need to be returned to school for the upcoming immunisations. Barwon Health has sent texts/emails to remind you that your child’s card has not been returned. All cards are to be returned with either the YES  or NO box ticked. Barwon Health are collecting cards from the NGSC Administration Office on Tuesday 25th August. A form to download will be made available on compass news. Contact the school for further advice about consent cards.

Please check the Barwon Health timetable (attached) if you prefer to use the clinics for this immunisation.
