Specialist Home Learning: 

Week Beginning August 31

During Home Learning for Term 3, Specialist subjects have again been timetabled once a week for 25 minute blocks. All tasks this time will be presented in a ‘menu-board’ format. There will be four tasks for each Specialist area and pupils will be asked to complete one task from each specialist subject over each week.

Physical Education 

In P.E this week, some of the highlights are:

Preps to Grade 2 - Have a go at building your own jumping obstacle course outdoors or                                          inside the house; Test your ball control skills with a bouncing obstacle                                        course.

Grades 3 and 4 -  Compete in the plastic cup long jump; Test your ball control skills with                                        'foot golf'.

Grades 5 and 6 - Complete the Middle Distance Running Challenge; Test your ball control                                   with the bouncing and ball handling challenges.

LOTE - Italian

In Italian this week, some of the highlights are:

Preps to Grade 2 -  Balliamo! Let's dance!Click on the link to listen to the story and have                                           some dancing fun with your family; Learn the days of the week and the                                       months of the year with the  ‘LEARN ITALIAN ABC’ App.

Grades 3 and 4-  Have a go at reciting the poem ‘Le cose che non dormano mai’ (Things                                     That never Sleep); Balliamo (Lets dance) with Rosa Voto, and learn the                                        history behind the famous Tarantella dance.

Visual Arts

In Art this week, some of the highlights are:

Preps to Grade 2 -  Paint and draw what you see in this activity using colourful paint                                                  splats!; Have a go at mindfulness drawing  with the 'Zentangles'                                                    activity.

Grades 3 and 4-  Have a go at making your own Hirameki artwork by turning a random                                           blot of colour into something amazing, just by drawing a few dots and                                         lines; Make your very own egg carton animal artwork.

Grades 5 and 6- Draw your favourite moments with the Hermannsburg potters; Take on                                      the Heide at Home Photography Challenge and enter it into their                                                  competition.

Performing Arts

In Performing Arts this week, some of the highlights are:

Preps to Grade 2- Have a go at using your body to make sounds and see if you can follow                                       the rhythm patterns with 'Kaboom Body Percussion'; use your                                                       imagination to enjoy a ‘day at the beach’ in the comfort of your own                                             home!

Grades 3 and 4-  Explore different sound with the 'Kitchen Music' activity; What can you                                       complete on the Fabulous Performing Arts Scavenger Hunt ?

Grades 5 and 6-  Complete this two week challenge with your siblings or as a whole                                               family: Have a go at recreating a famous music video in the same style                                       as the original!
