Boarding Leaders

Our 2023 Boarding Leaders were recently chosen by a vote in each house. With Ava Smith and Darcy Barrett leading the group, the successful candidates were:

• Anchorage: Fraser King and Craig Wiech 
• Endeavour: Matilda Norrish and Katelin Woithe
• Eclipse: Hamish Medway and Steven Wiech
• Breaksea: Kobie Featherstone and Ella Main

Sunday Sessions

In boarding we have started a new tradition of Sunday sessions each week on the grassed area outside the Dining Hall. This is where boarders come together, enjoy a meal and some music and reset for the week ahead. With the restricted fire season coming to an end, we are also going to introduce a fire pit to the area.

Last Sunday the Komoberi Band joined us. The trio sang and played the night away in front of a gorgeous sunset. We are very grateful to such talented students at GSG, and hope for them to spoil us with their tunes again soon. 

Tuesday Gatherings

Tuesday nights are also an opportunity for the senior and junior houses to mix. Last week, Endeavour and Breaksea enjoyed an outdoor barbecue whilst Eclipse and Anchorage bonded over a meal in the dining hall together. Tuesday nights will continue to rotate, where the girls and boys will take turns switching between the dining hall and a barbecue and share conversations of the past week.  

After dinner, a group from both Breaksea and Eclipse join their respective younger houses for prep. These wellness ambassadors, help tutor the Year Seven to Nine groups and aim to create meaningful conversations and bonds between the different ages.
