Secondary School

From the Head of Secondary

We have had a wonderful final week of Term One in Secondary School. With much to celebrate and reflect on, I encourage all students and families to take some time during the upcoming break to do just that and perhaps set some goals for Term Two. Reports and Parent-Teacher Interview sessions offered a chance to take stock and set some classroom and course goals but there are now so many more opportunities available to consider engaging with.

‘Everything is back, Mrs Turnor!’ is how one Year Eleven student referred to 2023, following the restrictions we had in place over the last few years. Many students are thriving in the vibrancy we are enjoying again, but others are feeling a little overwhelmed.

The break has come at the perfect time to ponder how our busy and open world looks and feels, and which might be the best way forward for each of us. I wish you all the best for the break and would like to thank you all for your ongoing support.

Values and Christian Service (VACS)

Our first VACS rotation has come to an end and students have been able to engage in all manner of activities this term. The weather has been extremely kind on Wednesdays at noon and students have enjoyed fishing, softball, photography and dance amongst many other options.

The theme for photography this term was ‘Prison or Paradise’.  Please see some of the entries below.

Year Nine Leaders’ Foodbank Drive

The Year Nine leaders were determined to inject some fun into this year’s initiative.  They asked each Homeroom to build a sculpture with their donations.  Please see some of the sculptures below.  With 24 Homerooms in the Secondary School, we were able to make a significant delivery to Foodbank this week.
