Music
The last few weeks have been eventful for the Music students at McCarthy.
On Monday June 15th, the Stage 5 Elective Music classes presented the concert they have been creating in class called “McCarthical”. The students have been studying Musical Theatre, and their concert was a collection of performances representing a wide variety of musicals.

The Tamworth Eisteddfod has also been a focus for our music students this term. The Eisteddfod was held on Thursday June 15th at the Tamworth Town Hall. We entered performances by the Concert Band, The Brass Ensemble, The Woodwind Ensemble, from each of our Stage 5 and Stage 6 Elective Classes, as well as in the Rock Band section of the Eisteddfod. In total, our school performed 18 different pieces of music on the day and we had 46 students involved, from year 7 to year 12. Our students were engaged audience members throughout the day, cheering for all schools and competitors. We received a wide range of results, from Highly Commended through to “The Delusions”, the Rock Band, coming first in their section.

Thank you to all of our students for their hard work in preparing for these events, and for their wonderful contribution to Music at McCarthy.
A number of our College students also participated in the eisteddfod individually, playing instruments, singing, dancing and in speech. Congratulations to all of those students on their results.
