Textiles
Year 10
What is the subject about?
Students will develop an understanding of the use of the sewing machine, basic construction and material manipulation techniques to produce various textile products. Students will look at fashion design, the importance of sustainability and fibre properties.
Students will develop life-long skills that allow them to use a range of textile materials, equipment and techniques to create, decorate and enhance fabrics. By the end of this course, students will be able to use a commercial pattern to create their own everyday clothing, as well as take home their very own pair of pyjamas
