IDAHOBIT DAY Tomorrow
On Wednesday 17 May, we will celebrate IDAHOBIT Day- International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism, and Transphobia. The annual event marks the anniversary of May 17 in 1990 when the World Health Organization removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems. IDAHOBIT Day is a day to celebrate the advances in LGBTQIA+ equality, while also acknowledging the historical and ongoing discrimination and violence faced by LGBTQIA+ people across the world.
Staff and students are encouraged to wear a splash of RAINBOW tomorrow, (eg. badges, hair accessories etc), to promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment across our school community. There will also be a badge making event in the library at lunch time.
You can read more about the history of IDAHOBIT Day here.
