AP/LoP Meeting Term
The Assistant Principal/Leaders of Pedagogy Meeting for Term 2 will be held on 1st and 2nd of June. Professor Anne Graham from SCU will present on Living Well Learning Well research and applications. There will also be learning on the Clarity Professional Learning and Curriculum Reform.

Leading our young people to live well, learn well.
This is a two day professional development dedicated to promoting the conditions for our young people to lean into living well for learning. Over the two days, as leaders of the pastoral academic space in your contexts, you will participate in a program of learning that will take you on a deep dive into the Living Well, Learning Well Framework, help you unlock the potential of the data-ecosystem in building shared responsibility and accountability for student wellbeing, and support you to build a strong team of skilled adults committed to ensuring an ethos of care.

Curriculum Reform meetings - In response to the Curriculum Reform schedule, and the NESA syllabus rollout, we will facilitate a series of professional learning opportunities for staff.

The focus of these days will be syllabus familiarisation, the digital curriculum, specific outcomes and content. There will be a second day, to continue to develop familiarisation and understanding in semester two.
Targeted staff would be teachers of 3 - 6 English and Maths, secondary English and Maths teachers, as well as LOLs of these subjects and, where possible, LOPs and/or Literacy coaches.

MaST Project
K-2 Teacher Professional Learning Opportunity
Schools are invited to register two teachers for a K-2 Numeracy workshop facilitated by Tracey Hughes-Butters and the MaST team. The theme for the day will be 'Mathematical Thinking'. The workshop will assist teachers to further develop their skills in line with curriculum reform recommendations for the new syllabus. CSO will cover the release of two teachers to attend this workshop. Please seek your Principal’s approval before registering. Registrations close Friday 5 May.

Students as Authors Writing Competition Launch
This year, we are asking students to write a story about courage and/or faith. Please find promotional posters with instructions for submitting entries for the competition with embedded links below:
Entries close 16th June. You can find all the details of last year’s competition on the Students as Authors website. Please promote this rich experience within your school community.
NESA 2023 WriteOn Competition Now Open
WriteOn is an annual writing competition open to all NSW students in Years 1-6. Using a provided image as the stimulus, students compose an imaginative text of up to 500 words.
This competition provides students with the opportunity to become published authors and showcase their creativity. To maximise the purpose of the competition, teachers are encouraged to consider the stimulus image for discussion across learning areas, and to refer to the NSW English syllabuses. Each year, winning entries are published in The Best of WriteOn anthology.
Entries close at 4 pm on Friday 16 June (Week 8, Term 2).

NSW Youth Advisory Council
Applications now open for the NSW Youth Advisory Council
Recruitment for the 2024 NSW Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is now open! Membership of the YAC is open to children and young people aged between 12-24 years residing in NSW. Applications are sought from children and young people from diverse backgrounds, life experiences and from different locations around the state. Applications close 21 May 2023.
