Week 10

Wow, the last week of term 1 already! Sending Easter love for all families. May you have a safe and restful break, filled with the hope, that the resurrection and Easter bring. 

Lots of action on the building site! Demolition has begun. The students have loved their visits to the bathroom, with a stop via the windows to check out the heavy machinery.  

St Brigid’s continues to focus on our whole school Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBL). Learning areas are re-teaching the value of respect. We are tracking the results and hope to see an improvement in this area, over the next week. A letter was sent home today with more details. We will begin term 2 with a reminder around this value.

On Wednesday year 3’s attended their Reconciliation ceremonies. The students were joined by their classmates, families and friends, as well as the catechist students. This is the first time we have celebrated our Reconciliation on one night, as a St Brigid’s Primary School cohort.  

Intervention and extension has been implemented across the school in both literacy and mathematics, students have been engaged and challenged, and are enjoying the process of learning. We are moving towards further intervention in the social-emotional sphere and have been working as a wellbeing team and with MACS to create these plans. Margaret Sacco, our speech pathologist, has Robyn, and Isaiah, a speech student, working alongside her, and together they have enacted strong intervention plans across the school. 

It has been great to see our students getting involved in school community events. We have our newly formed guitar club, and “St Brigid’s Got Talent”, all happening during lunchtimes. St B’s truly is a great place to be!
