African Drumming

Hear the Beat and Move Your Feet...and Hands!

One of the most popular activities on Harmony Day was the African Drumming. I have to say it was my favourite as well. During the African Drumming, we learned some simple beats.  We advanced to some more complicated rhythms, and soon enough, we were playing a melody.

Bouba encouraged us to get up and dance. Frankie and Petar did the "Worm," which was so funny. (We all need their bravery!)

I loved it because it allowed us to have fun and be ourselves.

Petar said, "It allowed us to express our feelings through dance."

The Juniors also did African Drumming. Instead of learning a song, they danced a lot. I heard that they enjoyed it.

I liked dancing in front of the stage.  - Grace

I like doing the drumming while other people are dancing - Kylie

I liked doing the drumming as well - Xavier.
