Welcome to Week 3!

Best wishes to all our Mum's and Grandmothers for Mother's Day this Sunday. We hope you have a lovely day. Thank you to the P&C for organising the Mother's Day stall this Thursday.

Tonight at 6pm there will be an information meeting for prospective families for the 2024 Opportunity Class.  Please see the flyer below.

Arrival times:

Supervision in the morning does not begin till 8:30am.  We ask that parents do not drop their children off to school before 8:15am. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

Tell Them From Me Survey

The Tell Them From Me student survey asks students in years 4 to 6 about a range of school experiences, including their engagement and wellbeing at school and beyond. It also asks students about teaching practices and the learning environment.

The survey takes about 20 minutes to complete and is completed at school.

The information on this page is for parents and carers, and how they can support their child to participate in the Tell Them From Me student survey. If you do not wish your child to participate in Tell Them From Me, complete a non-consent form and send it to your school.

PAX Word of the Fortnight: ATTENTIVE

The definition of attentive is paying attention to or being thoughtful of others.  A person who always carefully listens to directions is an example of someone who is attentive.  PAX Leaders are attentive by paying attention, switching on ready for learning, focusing, being whole-body listeners and following instructions.

How can you be more attentive this week?

Student Successes

Congratulationsto our MGPS netball team who have been successful against Sandon in the PSSA knockout, winning 13-4. They play ACPS in the next round.

On Monday, Evie, Charlotte, Bella, Pippa and Charlotte attended the Armidale PSSA Netball trials. Congratulations to Charlotte McRae who was selected in the Armidale Zone team to attend the Nortwest trials.

Attendance Matters:

We have set our school a target to achieve 90% attendance 90% of the time for 2023.

Can you help us do this? Coming to school each day between 8:30am and 9:00am and leaving at 3pm is just a simple way we can achieve this together. Let's do this together.

Staff Spotlight:

Hello Martin’s Gully Family. My name is Karen Dunham and I have been privileged enough to have been learning, teaching and playing at MGPS for the past eight years.

I was born in Coonabarabran where I started school before moving to Armidale to continue primary, high school and university.  Prior to my time at MGPS I worked in a number of schools within Armidale and also spent the first three years of my teaching career in Narrabri.

My husband and I spent twelve months traveling the world before returning to Armidale where we now have two highly energetic boys Henry and Oliver.  As a family we enjoy spending time fishing, traveling, bike riding and SOCCER!!  If my boys are not playing soccer then they are watching soccer!

I am very grateful to be part of such an amazing community here at MGPS where I work as the Librarian and Digital Learning Coordinator, spending my days with kids who display a love of learning!

Have a wonderful week!
